Ticor Title is the nation’s largest title insurance company through its title insurance underwriters – Fidelity National Title, Chicago Title, Commonwealth Land Title, Alamo Title and National Title of New York – that collectively issue more title insurance policies than any other title company in the United States.

The fourth quarter was a strong finish to 2015 for our title business, as we again led the title industry with a 13.8% pre-tax title margin. The purchase market showed continued growth, as our open and closed purchase orders grew by approximately 9% for the fourth quarter and full-year 2015.

We had a record quarter in our commercial business, generating $303 million in total commercial revenue, an 11% increase over the fourth quarter of 2014. For full-year 2015, total commercial revenue was more than $1 billion, a 20% increase over full-year 2014.

Just as a friendly reminder our 1st half property taxes are due by Dec 10th, otherwise they will be considered delinquent, and penalties are assessed!

If you have a transaction going and they are not paid, you may need to take this into consideration on your HUD one. (especally short sales)Knowledge is power and knowing these details can help you to make transactions smoother.

QR Codes... Anyone else confused how to use?

So I have heard about the mysterious QR Codes.. I had wondered how to best use them, and how could I use them to make business easier, or make it easier to do business with me.

I was recently turned on to a free site called kimtag.com. It is site that allows you to set-up a virtual e-card that a client can scan and it pulls all of your info into the mobile device and allows the client to save your info without typing a thing.

This may make things a little bit easier.

Short Sales

Not So Short!

The Average length of a short sales these days is 90 days. Keeping that in mind it is wise to update your preliminary title report every 3-4 weeks! This will help in limiting the chance of any last minute surprises!

REO's

Most common lien attached during an REO transaction is a weed abatement lien by the local city!

Updating your prelim will keep you abreast of what is happening on the property and giving you ample to time address any issues as they arise!
